black & white thinking
black and white thinking is a thought pattern that makes people think in absolutes, all or nothing - extremes.
the American Psychological Association also calls dichotomous or polarized thinking, is considered a cognitive distortion, keeping us from seeing the world as it often is: complex, nuanced, and full of all the shades in between.
So here is a poem for you my friend :)
righteousness is old fashioned and it’s hurting humanity - again, the same old movie!
humans have infinite capacity to create
love or war?
to live freely or prove the point?
open up the vision
expand the awareness
staying rooted in the truth, that there is no truth
humble to learn
generous to share
yes there is your way
and my way
his way
her way
their way
when i flip the M on me it becomes WE
rather than getting angry at the neighbors
for the differences… for the past
how can humans colaborate create something new together now?
and yes there is black and white and all colors of the rainbow too!
i, on my human experience as gabriela dias, choose to add up - instead of divide.
there is nothing to conquer
outside of my(self)
i invite you to weave with me
to embrace the depth of human experience
the beauty of diversity with curiosity
and so it is…
